Review:
Wow what a powerful film and Spencer Tracy is positively brilliant in this, it's made me a huge fan. He plays John McCready, a stranger who has come to the town of Black Rock. The townspeople couldn't make him less welcome if they tried! They won't rent him a vehicle, they won't allow him to eat in peace...they make his life miserable. When they find out that John is asking around about a fella by the name of Kamoko the people get frightening. It's definitely got a bit of a similar vibe as High Noon with the tension and whatnot. It's absolutely beautifully filmed in color and it's extremely easy to watch. It starts right in with the mystery and keeps the viewer hanging on until the very last moment. Definitely an easy classic to love, I'm definitely hoping to run into more like this.
